OUR STORY:
Growing up, Maurice's passion for community was ignited in his great-aunt's kitchen over shared meals celebrating resilience. Through college and early adulthood, Maurice continued this tradition of building valuable community through culinary experiences. In April of 2021, Maurice launched The Stew in Los Angeles, as a way to offer a space for others to combat loneliness, celebrate each other’s heritage, and form community through food’s unifying power.
Our immersive experiences spark conversations, explore cultural traditions, and nurture profound bonds while celebrating identity. From communal meals to thought-provoking workshops, our events provide a platform to forge meaningful connections and facilitate understanding. At our core, we believe every meal is an opportunity for storytelling and bridging divides.
